Overview
The Mecmesin OmniTest is a versatile universal testing machine designed to meet a wide range of materials testing requirements, including top-load testing for packaging and materials integrity. Available in both single-column models for lower-capacity testing (0.5, 1, 2.5, 5, and 7.5 kN) and dual-column models (10, 25, and 50 kN) for higher capacity testing, the OmniTest provides reliable performance for both delicate and bulkier or stronger samples.
Each model is compact and bench-top friendly, making it ideal for quality control (QC) and research and development (R&D) laboratories. With the intuitive VectorPro software, users at any skill level can achieve consistent and repeatable test results, controlling critical test parameters like stress/strain, force/displacement, and speed/load rate.

The single-column OmniTest materials testing system comprises five key elements:
Test frame
Excellent rigidity and strength with intuitive controls making the tester easy to use even for novice operators.
The single-column OmniTest materials testers feature a precision ballscrew with linear slide mechanism driving a solid crosshead with an ELS loadcell.
All models are ideal for general purpose testing of specimens to determine their tension, compression, flexure, shear and fracture characteristics.
Loadcells
Our range of high resolution precision loadcells are specially adapted to the OmniTest. The ELS range are interchangeable with 'plug and play' features that mean calibration characteristics are automatically recognised by the tensile tester.
Software
VectorPro materials testing software is at the heart of the OmniTest materials testers. Our software is intuitive for both operators and managers. Personalised user accounts and a streamlined user interface make it easy to design step-by-step test methods, according to your precise testing procedures.
VectorPro delivers outstanding control of the motor and simultaneously collecting data at 500 Hz from the ELS loadcell and test frame displacement encoder.
Extension measurement
Available with a range of precision short and long-travel extensometers.
When testing the extension or compressive deformation of a specimen VectorPro compensates for movement encountered within the loadcell and grip string (ie 'Correction for Machine Compliance'), often acceptable for most requirements.
Extensometers measure extension directly on the speciment for the most accurate measurement.
Grips and fixtures
Mecmesin supply a wide range of grips and fixtures for securely holding test specimen.
We also provide custom grip design and manufacturing for unusual shape specimen, our in-house engineering team and 3D printing service have developed thousands of bespoke solutions for our customers.

Grips and fixtures
Holding your material specimen in place without it slipping is essential to obtaining repeatable results. Mecmesin has designed a range of tension and compression grips to hold a variety of components, including wedge grips, vice grips, peel jigs, bend jigs, compression plates and many more.
The varying nature of specimen sizes and shapes often makes it necessary to design and produce a special grip.
Mecmesin's team of design engineers will work with you to develop the best grip for your specimen, utilising our 3D printers to produce lightweight and precision fixtures to meet your needs.
